Here at JIMMY’Z we’re big fans of all forms of skating. We don’t care if you’re on a pig board from the 80’s and slashing around in a pool, throwing a popsicle down some stairs, hitting a hill at 50+ MPH on a longboard or dancing around on a tiny freestyle board – if you’re stoked, we’re stoked. That’s why we’re proud to announce that the latest addition to the Z-Team is London, England’s Louis Selby!
Louis is mainly a slalom rider and can be usually be found weaving in and out of cones at high speeds and dominating podiums all over Europe, but like all great skaters, he’s down to skate pretty much anything, and always does it with a massive smile.
This week’s video comes from Britain again as London-based Am team member Alex Griffiths has dropped a video containing a compilation of his favourite clips from the last six months. With a mix of vert, park and street, Alex has been a busy guy since 2015 began!
Every summer, a sleepy rural county in England plays host to NASS festival, a three-day mixture of skateboarding, BMX, and music acts. Amongst the attractions and attendees at this year’s event are Tony Hawk, Less than Jake, Public Enemy… and two members of the JIMMY’Z Pro Team.
Joe Hinson, our British street skater, and Tony Gale, our token freestyler, will both be heading out to Somerset between the 10th and 12th of July to represent JIMMY’Z in their respective arenas. Joe will be found terrorizing the street course in the pro competition – expect to see some 360 flip boardslides and perfect smiths on every handrail in the course – and Tony will be in the designated Freestyler Holding Zone near the main stage where he’ll be performing with the Late Tricks demo team throughout the weekend.
For more details on the event, check out Nassfestival.com – and be sure to say hi to Joe and Tony if you see them while you’re there!
Jimmy’z freestyle team rider Tony Gale recently headed out to Germany to compete in Europe’s biggest freestyle skateboarding competition, the Paderborn BBQ Contest, and took 2nd place in the pro division with this characteristically fast-paced run.
The Junior division of the Z-Team continues to grow with the addition of the UK’s Alex Griffiths! He’s been ripping it on vert ramps, bowls and mini ramps across the south east of England for a while, and we’re stoked to have him on board.
His profile and a “Welcome to the Team” edit will be uploaded soon, but for the time being, go follow him on Instagram at @alex.griffiths!
